Gestational Surrogacy
Gestational Surrogacy Overview
We have been helping build families through assisted reproduction and surrogacy for more than 25 years. Our team includes members of the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys , and Diane has served as Chair Person of this exclusive organization. We offer a full-service surrogacy program in which every detail of your case is managed closely and in house by a team of lawyers and case managers. When you work with us, you’ll be walked through every step of the process, from helping you match with one of our thoroughly prescreened, exceptional surrogates to having you legally declared your child’s parents. With our program, an adoption is not necessary; you will be the child’s parents from the moment of birth. We have worked closely with virtually every fertility center in the San Francisco Bay Area and have detailed knowledge of their procedures, the potential insurance issues involved, and the most efficacious way to preclude problems.
We are experienced in both Gestation and Traditional surrogacy. Gestational surrogacy utilizes In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) where a non biologically related embryo is medically implanted in the surrogate’s uterus. Intended Parents can have a child that is genetically related to them, using the Intended Mother’s egg and the Intended Father’s sperm. In CA, gestational surrogacy contracts have been upheld by the Courts. Traditional surrogacy, on the other hand, involves artificial insemination, using the surrogate’s egg and sperm from the Intended Father or from a Donor. Because the surrogate’s egg is used, the surrogate mother is genetically related to the baby she gives birth to. In California, a traditional surrogacy contract is not legally binding; therefore we typically do not recommend this alternative.
